Border to Coast welcomes Partner Fund representative to Board

An image of Councillor David Coupe, Board member

Chair of Teesside Pension Fund Cllr David Coupe has joined the Board of Border to Coast Pensions Partnership (Border to Coast), representing its customers and shareholders at the heart of its governance.

As a Partner Fund nominated Non-Executive Director (NED), David (pictured above) will ensure the views and interests of Partner Funds are heard in key decision making, in scrutiny and oversight, and in contributing to the strategic aims of the organisation. He will also sit on the Board Audit Commitee.

First elected as ward councillor for Stainton & Thornton on Middlesbrough Borough Council in 2015, David became an

executive member for Adult Health and Public Protection and Digital inclusion in 2022. David is also co-Chair on the Live Well South Tees Board.

He joins Cllr John Holtby, Deputy Leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, as the Board’s two Partner Fund nominated NEDs.

David’s appointment follows the end of Cllr Anne Walsh’s tenure as a Board member in September. Anne served on the Board from October 2020 and was an active member of the Board Audit Committee. She was a committed and trusted Board member, and the organisation thanks her for her dedication to the role and service.
